A wife had a fight with her husband. After dinner, the husband and children went to sleep, while the wife, feeling upset, left the house thinking that she could no longer live with her husband.
As she wandered through the neighborhood streets, she heard a voice from a nearby house—a woman praying to God for a piece of bread for her child.
She walked a little further and heard another woman praying to God to protect her son from all difficulties.
From yet another house came a voice of a husband telling his wife to request the landlord for a few more days’ time and to plead with him not to trouble them every day.
Further ahead, an elderly grandmother was telling her grandson, “It’s been days since you brought my medicine.” The grandson, while eating dry bread, replied, “Grandma, even the pharmacy won’t give medicine without money anymore, and I don’t have enough to buy your medicines.”
Walking a bit more, she heard a woman telling her hungry children, “Your father will surely bring something to eat today. Until then, go to sleep. I’ll wake you up when he returns.”
The wife stood there for a while, reflecting deeply. Then, she quietly turned back toward her home, realizing that even the people who appear happy and content on the outside have their own untold stories of struggle.
Yet, despite their hardships and pain, they continue to live with hidden strength and smiles. She returned home and thanked God for the roof over her head, her children, and a caring husband.
Yes, she sometimes argued with him, but he always looked after her. She had thought her life was full of sorrow, but after hearing the cries and struggles of others, she realized that many people bear far greater burdens than hers.

“Not everyone who appears happy and content is living a perfect life. Everyone carries their own struggles and pains, but they hide them behind their smiles. Behind every laugh could be silent tears. Despite all the difficulties and tests, continuing to live is the true essence of life—this is what true life is.“
